Tammi carefully crafts all creations with an artist's eye and price of creations will reflect this. Your understanding and respect for these prices is greatly appreciated.
FROM SKETCH TO CREATION
After consultation and a sketch is chosen for the design, please be aware that when creating the designs, some elements of the design may change slightly, such as the placement of flowers or the number of flowers, etc. This is solely up to the artist, and changes are made while creating that just look better than the original sketch. If major changes are needed, Tammi will contact you prior to these changes. If there are items that a customer wants on a creation that they possess, it will be up to the customer to drop off these items. i.e. flowers, cake toppers, etc.
INGREDIENTS
All edible works of art are subject to the availability of ingredients. Ingredient availability may vary due to seasonal fluctuations or high demand. Some ingredients may cost more when out of season or in high demand. Please note that the strawberries and cream cake is not able to be stacked. it is sold only as a slab cake, as it is very delicate.
Some colours, such as reds, blacks or any deep colour, will change the taste of the buttercream. This is a natural process as it takes a lot of colouring to achieve these vivid colours. These colours will also dye mouths, hands and clothing for a brief period. Tammi will let the customer know when the creation is chosen if this may occur.
COMPLAINTS/RECIPES
All edible works of art are made by the baker at her discretion and may not reflect exactly your taste. The baker will do everything possible to prevent this from happening. The baker uses set recipes for all edible works of art and flavours. Cakes Custom Creations will work closely with you and let you know what is best for your creation. All ingredients are available to the customer by request, but not the recipe. Please be respectful of this as Cakes Custom Creations has worked very hard for years to create her recipes.
Cakes Custom Creations will not deviate from flavour options nor use another baker's recipes. Please refer to flavours for options available.
If a customer is not satisfied with the design and overall appearance, taste, etc. of their finished edible works of art, Cakes Custom Creations will not refund or discount any monies. Here at Cakes Custom Creations, we work very closely with our customers right down to the very last detail to do our best to create what your vision is.
Sometimes elements on creations will not work out, but there will always be an alternative found at the expense of the baker. Tammi will let the customer know of these changes prior. Every possible way will be tried to avoid this.
At Cakes Custom Creations, we strive for perfection in every order. However, mistakes do happen. If the flavour of the cake does not match what was ordered, NO REFUND or DISCOUNT will be issued unless the cake is returned in its entirety. This allows our team to verify the error and maintain our quality control standards. Cakes Custom Creations is NOT able to provide compensation for creations that are not available for physical inspection. It is up to the customer to verify the invoice sent to ensure everything is correct, as this is the form the baker follows when creating. Discounts on future orders will be at the discretion of the baker when mistakes occur.
HOME BASED BAKERY/ALLERIGIES
Cakes Custom Creations products are made from scratch and with care, but may contain allergens. Our ingredients may include dairy, gluten, soy, nuts, etc., sourced from suppliers who process. Although Tammi keeps a clean baking environment, cross-contamination is possible. Cakes Custom Creations CANNOT guarantee that creations are safe for individuals with severe allergies. By purchasing from us, you acknowledge and understand this and release Cakes Custom Creations from any liability.
DEPOSITS/PAYMENTS/RUSH ORDER FEES/BOOKINGS/CHANGES TO CREATIONS
To place an order and secure your date, and creation a 50% non refundable deposit must be made. NO DEPOSIT= NO ORDER. The remainder of the payment is due on the date of creation at the time of pickup or delivery. Please respect that payments need to be made promptly. If payment is not made at the time of pick up or delivery, an additional fee of $25 will be added to the monies owed. If you are having difficulty at the time monies are due, please talk to Tammi and discuss further options with her.
Orders that are needed before 1 week may be subject to a RUSH ORDER fee. If unforeseen circumstances occur please contact Tammi and discuss further options. It will be up to the discretion of the Baker for possible refund of monies due to special unforeseen circumstances.
Sometimes, the date you want your creation made may be unavailable due to previous customers' bookings. Cakes Custom Creations will do everything possible to create what you want when you want it. Orders that are placed earlier are easier to fulfill on the day that you choose.
All orders are booked strictly on a first deposit, first-serve basis. During conversation and sketch time, your date is held until the final email/message is sent. Once the final email/message is sent requesting a deposit, your date is not secure until the deposit is made. If another client submits their deposit for the same date before your payment is finalized, the spot will go to them. We recommend completing your payment as soon as the final email/message is sent to ensure your spot is secured.
Once the deposit is made, customers will receive an invoice with all detail in regards to their creations. Please read over this invoice carefully and contact Tammi if you see any mistakes, as this is what the Baker follows when creating your creation.
PICKUP/LATE FEES
Cakes Custom Creations provides designated pick-up times for your convenience. As a small business, time is precious. Cakes Custom Creations strives to have your creation ready for the agreed-upon time. Similarly, we appreciate your respect for our schedule. Adhering to the designated pick-up time is crucial for our operation.
To accommodate unexpected delays, Cakes Custom Creations offers a 15-minute grace period from the start of your pickup time. If you arrive later than this, you are subject to late fees as follows;
16-30 mins $10
31-60 mins $20
If the customer is over an hour late, Cakes Custom Creations will have the right to resell your order and you will not be eligible for a refund.

IMPROPER CARE/CHOOSING FLAVORS FOR ELEMENTS/DAMAGES
Edible creations are baked to order and never made more than 2 days in advance. This excludes large multi-tiered wedding cakes. (see wedding for further details.) All of Cakes Custom Creations are made with the freshest, finest ingredients, and no preservatives are added. Cake-based products will stay fresh for up to 5 days. Cookies will stay fresh for up to 2 weeks or preserved for a later date. All creations come with care instructions. Some types of cakes and flavours/fillings may not be suitable for stacking and transporting. If certain creations are chosen, Tammi will let you know that it is not the greatest choice for the creation you want. No refund will be issued if damage occurs. If weather or improper care of your edible creation causes damage (i.e. melting on hot days, storing improperly), if the facility is not adequate with temperature (i.e., no air conditioning or set up in sunlight), or if setting up outside at any time, NO REFUND will be issued. Tammi will work with you and let you know which edible creation is best for the time of year (indoor, outdoor, hot days, cold days, etc.) Many different techniques and recipes are used to help with these issues, but they do NOT guarantee the creation will withstand all elements. Most cakes will show "sweating" when delivered or picked up. This occurs from the fridge and is inevitable. Fondant pieces may look wet as well. This is a normal process. If the creations are placed in a proper setting, the "sweating " and fondant will eventually dry.
Sometimes (very rarely) edible creations DO NOT go as planned, and the baker may not be able to fulfill your order. If this occurs, a FULL refund will be given to the customer. All creations come with care cards and instructions. It is the customer's responsibility to follow these instructions.
DELIVERY/SETUP
Cakes Custom Creations provides delivery for an additional fee. The delivery fee is calculated based on a round-trip distance from our location to yours. The fee is calculated by $0.80/km (round trip) or $10 whichever is greater. It is very difficult to transport all edible works of art, and there is NO GUARANTEE that they will not break. Cakes Custom Creations takes every single measure to not let this happen by using supports and driving very carefully, etc. If delivery is chosen, insurance is placed on your creation. A refund of 50% will be given if a creation is damaged and NOT fixable. Please note that hairline cracks in fondant or buttercream do NOT constitute damage and are almost enviable due to the movement of the vehicle. If cracks are extremely visible or damage occurs and unable to be fixed, it will be up to the desecration of Cakes Custom Creations what constitutes as damage/partial refund. If any edibles are picked up by the customer and are damaged during the customer's transportation, there will be NO REFUND to the customer. Cakes Custom Creations will NOT be responsible in any form once the edible work of art is out of their hands. In the case of bad weather or unforeseen circumstances (accidents, road closures, etc.) Cakes Custom Creations may change the delivery date to the day before or earlier/later in the day, but never the day after. Cakes Custom Creations will do everything possible to get your creation to you at the time it is requested.
If set up is required at the venue ( up to the discretion of Cakes Custom Creations), additional charges apply. It will be up to the customer to contact the venue BEFORE delivery to set up a time. Some venues may not allow outside sources. No refund will be issued if this does occur.
PICTURES/COPYRIGHT/REVIEWS/PRIVACY POLICY.
All creations are photographed. All photos will be the property of Cakes Custom Creations and are subject to social media posts, etc. Cakes Custom Creations will never share photos with customers/people in them unless permission is granted by the customer to do so. All reviews are subject to public sharing and viewing, along with the first name and last initial of the customer. If the customer does not want certain things shared, please let Cakes Custom Creations know at time the order is placed. All creations will not be posted/shared until the day after (just in case it ruins someone's surprise.) We prioritize your privacy.
WEDDING CAKES/CREATIONS
Wedding creations are priced at the time of inquiry. Wedding cakes are to be ordered no later than 1 month of date of creation. If a Wedding Cake is needed before the 1 month deadline and the cake is able to be created a rush order fee of $100+ non-refundable will be charged to the overall price of creation. Set up starts at $50 and will increase due to setup time and difficulty. It will be up to the customer to contact the venue to ensure they accept outside services and allow time the Baker needs to set up. Wedding cakes can be very large and very delicate due to size and flavor of cake chosen. Cakes Custom Creations will not be responsible or refund any monies if a cake that is not suitable in the season of your wedding day is chosen or cake is not properly cared for once delivered or set up or if the flavour chosen is not suitable for large multi-tier stacked cakes. An example of this would be hot summer day or outdoor weddings or storing certain cakes in fridge of freezer. Each creation will come with a care card telling the customer how to take care of the cake so damage does not occur. Tammi will let you know your best options to prevent any damage.
When placing an order for a wedding, PLEASE NOTE that the remaining balance is due DAY BEFORE wedding date. This is due to wedding days being so busy and hectic, and to ensure that Tammi will not have to contact to on your big day. PLEASE NOTE that if payment is NOT MADE DAY BEFORE, NO CREATION WILL BE DELIVERED OR PICKED UP and your order will not be refunded. Tammi will contact you DAY BEFORE with the remaining balance.
